Pointillist
by
Alex Domokos
Seurat was a pointillist
who objected to colour-mix.
Dotted primary colours together
the impression became much better.
As stined glass transmitting light
his paintings are vivid and bright.
Singular dots are dull mirage,
but side by side a bright image.
Separately all dots are fading,
but unified they form the painting.
He teaches us the final lesson,
there is no art without impression.
