Her color was black,
Tinka the pup - joining us,
Joining our life
Sharing laughter, sharing tears.
Bringer of sorrow
Upon her demise.

You say, "Just a dog!"
Little you know of the joy
So honest, so true,
She brought to a youngster shy,
A boy needing friends.

Ignorant they speak:
"Black out your soul's reflection
Behind those dark shades.
Resist emotions.
Thank you, God, for the Tinka's,
Lives without pretence.
