A View of Creation

When I awake with the rising of the sun,
The panorama of beauty leaves me in awe!
The sun makes its way across the sky,
And exits in a wondrous dance of color.
In this I see the hand of God.

The trees arrayed in their pomp and circumstance,
A straight strong oak, the bowing of the willow,
    The evergreens, ever green,
           Palm trees swaying, aspen quaking,
In this I see the hand of God.

A sea of roses dazzle the eye, a petunia smiles,
Geraniums red as blood, lilies white as snow,
Sunny daffodils, a scarlet runner and a shy violet,
In the spring the faithful blue crocuses appear.
In this I see the hand of God.

Among all these the butterflies flit among the flowers,
Squirrels dash up and down the trees, and the birds sing.
In the grass the cow, horse and sheep are grazing,
A dog playfully chases a cat, in the distance a rooster crows.
In all of this I see the hand of God.

Yet there is more, to name a few...
The Milky Way, the Pleiades, twinkling stars,
The gentle stream and roaring waves, crystal snowflakes falling,
Sand on the seashore, the promise of the rainbow.
The hand of God is in all of this.
