one at a time!
- Lorcet
(hydroconone) is used to control cough and to relieve mild to moderate
pain ... it is best limited to short-term use ... it may increase the
effects of other drugs with sedative effects ... these include alcohol, so
be careful.
- Neurontin (gabapentin) is a newish drug used as an adjunct in
the treatment of epilepsy.
- Elavil (amitryptyline) is an
antidepressant drug ... like Lorcet it will increase the sedative effect
of alcohol, so again be careful.
- Prilosec (omeprazole)
decreases secretion of gastric acid and has been found effective in
patients with duodenal ulcers.
The two acting on the central
nervous system, Lorcet and Elavil, in addition to enhancing the effect of
alcohol, may increase each others side-effects - but should such be the
case, your presciption would reflect this.
