I have been taking lots of xanax, like 2mg at a time as often as I think about it. I normally take 1.5 mg daily. Things have been stressful here lately. SO I am over medicating.
At what point is xanax toxic and dangerous. The most I have taken in one day is 10 mg(I think)

Usual maximum recommended dosage of xanax (alprazolam) is a total of 6 mg. per day. Doses greater than that will likely produce excessive sedation, impaired motor coordination (don't drive a car), confusion and memory loss. Overdose will produce a deep sleep that will likely last for 24 - 48 hours.
The main danger is the loss of motor control and driving or operating heavy machinery, and the consumption of alprazalam with other central depressant agents such as alcohol.
