I am 51 yr/F...going through really bad depression...I don't even like people anymore and both my jobs are with the public. I am insulin dependant diabetic, have heart condition and my Dr. says improve diabetes--improve mood swings.

I've heard Paxel is a good drug for depression. Wondering if I should make suggestion to Dr.

Hi Joan ... sorry to hear of your problem.

You should arrange a visit to your physician, one who's familiar with your medical history. He may refer you to a psychiatrist.

There's no reason for depression, if diagnosed, to be tolerated. There are several different types of antidepressant drugs. Paxil (paroxetine) is only one member of a fairly recently described type. There are several others.

Choice of drug is made on the basis of physician's personal experience/preferences and its effectiveness and tolerability in the treated patient.
