Q
Dr Rollo, I have a pressure over my bladder and sometimes my rectum will burn some, not bad. I do not urinate as easy as before. I have gas in my lower body. I have undergone tests, blood test, pelvic exam, lower GI, pap smear, ultra sound of female organs, feces test. All test were OK and was told it looked like Diverticulitus and I was on antibiotics for a week. I did have pain (biting) that felt like it was in the uterus. The pain is gone, but Istill have that pressure over the bladder.

Can you tell me what could be wrong? I feel fine, bowels are normal.I do get a quick pain in the left lower side. It really hurts if I have to urinate and try to hold it.

Sorry to hear about your problem.

I'm no physician so can't come up with a diagnosis. However I can give you some information which may help, particularly since you had previously been diagnosed, and treated, for diverticulitis.

Diverticulitis is characterized by, among other symptoms, pain and localized tenderness that occur most commonly in the left lower quadrant. The inflamed bowel segment often adheres to the bladder or other nearby pelvic organs. Pain aggravated by urination suggests such bladder adhesion.

Based on these similarities, it is possible that your original condition has relapsed or recurred. It might be a good idea to see your physician and get a professional differential diagnosis.

Best wishes.
