Providing Services and Programs to Roblin and District Seniors


Regular Membership: 50 years and over-Fee-$10.00 per year.
Associate Voting Membership: 45 years to 50 years-Fee - $10.00.

The Drop In is open 1 to 5 P. M. -6 days a week
and open most days from 9 to 12
for activities such as mall walking, exercises etc.


Recreational Activities: To promote good interpersonal relations and reduce the incidence of isolation and loneliness and learn new skills by working together.

Games:

Also Pot luck suppers are held for the members every 3 months or on some special holidays. Pool, shuffleboard, carpet bowling or mall walking held at any time during the week.

Education: To stimulate a challenge and make available the computer to be used by all seniors to rekindle interest in learning along with the younger generation.

Outreach: To reach out to seniors and make them aware of the programs available at the centre.

Healthy Lifestyle: To promote healthy lifestyle in our centre, hold blood pressure clinics the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 1:30 PM.

Library: Have book exchange for interested seniors.

Recycled Card Program: Cards for sale with the proceeds going towards the Handi-Van.


Membership allows the individual to run for office and to vote in general elections at the centre.

The centre is managed by a Board of Directors, who are members in good standing of the centre and who organize fund raising programs necessary to operate the centre. The centre is rented out for funeral luncheons, showers, tea's, birthday parties, family reunions, etc. Birthday parties for members (every three months) will be held on the last Friday of the third month, with birthday cake served from 2:00 to 4:00pm

Assisting senior and handicapped persons to maintain a happy healthy independent lifestyle in their own home for as long as possible including a Lifeline - A personal response system linked to 24 Hour assistance providing the confidence of knowing if help is needed. The centre has wheel-chair access, no steps or stairs. A place where seniors can meet for recreational and educational activities as well as companionship.

Services include Lifeline, Congregate meals, housecleaning, friendly visiting, filling out forms, OAS + CPP applications, Parking Permit Applications, Alzheimer Family support groups and literature display on a wide variety of topics of interest to seniors.
